Cultivating Clean Air in Urban Environments (GARDEN – ROMD00453) is a cross-border project that promotes urban gardens as a practical solution for greener cities, cleaner air, and healthier urban communities.
The project aims to improve urban environmental quality by protecting biodiversity, developing green infrastructure, and reducing pollution, with a focus on active involvement of local communities.
The cities of the region, from the border of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, is faced with the common challenge of which affects the quality of life and the sustainability of the urban environment.
Urban Garden Ungheni to respond to these challenges through an integrated approach that combines green infrastructure, education, environment, technological innovation, and cross-border cooperation.
The aim of the project is to transform the urban garden into an instrument of change: a living space, designed and cared for by the community, and reduce air pollution, supporting biodiversity, and encourage civic engagement.
Based on the objectives and activities of the proposed project responds directly to the Priority 1 – the Community of the green in the framework of the The program Interreg v-a VI-A NEXT-Romania-Moldova 2021-2027 and contribute to achieving the specific objective 1.2 with a view to strengthening the protection and conservation of biodiversity and green infrastructure urban areas, as well as the reduction of all forms of pollution.
The project, "the Cultivation of fresh air in the city" (the GARDEN ROMD000453) is being implemented by the Association of Business InnoHub the city of Ungheni district, and the Association of the "Best", in the framework of the Programme Interreg v-a VI-A NEXT-Romania-Moldova 2021-2027, which is financed by the European Union and co-financed by the participating countries in the programme.
